Frijoles Fire cause: Santa Fe County under immediate evacuation order; All we know about wildfire action plan

The Frijoles Fire, ignited by lightning storms, is currently burning in the Española Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest, 10 miles north of Ski Santa Fe. As of Monday afternoon, the fire has grown from 2,000 acres to nearly 3,300 acres, and remains uncontained. Santa Fe County has issued an immediate evacuation order for residents of Camino de Cañon Street in Cundiyo, instructing them to leave with an emergency supply kit.

The county has established an evacuation shelter at Pojoaque Valley Middle School gym, 1797 State Road 502, for those in need. The remainder of Cundiyo is under a READY status, with residents advised to prepare a wildfire action plan and have a go-bag ready with essential items. Cordova, a community in Rio Arriba County, is also under a SET status, requiring residents to be prepared for evacuation.

Over 100 firefighters are working to control the blaze before it reaches Cundiyo, which is approximately 2.5 miles away. Ashley Ponce, a resident living just over two miles from the fire, expressed her nervousness about the situation, stating, "It's a little scary... just kinda not knowing what's going to happen."
