Disney signs multi-year deal to stream Formula E races

Disney has entered into a multi-year agreement to stream all-electric Formula E races globally on Disney+. The deal will make races available on Disney+, ESPN, and ESPN+ across 144 territories. The 2026-27 season will feature 21 rounds across 13 events in cities including Jeddah, Austin, Miami, Monaco, and Mexico City, with the season starting on December 18, 2026, and concluding in Tokyo on July 25, 2027.

This expansion of Disney's sports content, which already includes LALIGA football, NBA games, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League, underscores the company's commitment to showcasing innovative and exciting sports. Formula E, majority-owned by Liberty Global, is set to debut its next-generation electric vehicle, the GEN4, during the upcoming season.

This race car is described as the fastest and most technologically advanced electric racing car ever built. The financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed. Despite the shift to streaming, Formula E will retain its traditional broadcast TV partnerships, which previously included CBS Sports on CBS, Paramount+, and The Roku Channel in the United States.
