Dewan Rakyat Speaker confirms Wong Chen’s resignation as Subang MP, says EC notified of vacancy

KUALA LUMPUR, August 11 — Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Johari Abdul, has officially confirmed that Wong Chen has resigned as the Subang MP. Johari disclosed that he has notified the Election Commission (EC) about the vacancy in the parliamentary seat. Johari informed that Wong Chen tendered his resignation letter to him on August 5, providing parliamentary officers with three working days to prepare for the vacancy.

Wong Chen's team plans to remove the honorific title "Yang Berhormat" from all their billboards, signages, and correspondence by the following month. Following the confirmation, Wong Chen is expected to address a press conference tomorrow at 11am.
