Day after talks with Tarique Rahman, Dinesh Trivedi meets PM Narendra Modi

Five days after opposition leader Sheikh Hasina's controversial remarks in India, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to India, Dinesh Trivedi, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Trivedi sought Modi's guidance for strengthening the long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between India and Bangladesh.

Rahman had raised concerns about Hasina's extradition during their talks earlier this week, emphasizing the need to establish a favorable environment to further enhance bilateral relations. Trivedi praised both Rahman and Modi as "people's persons," expressing confidence that discussions between the two leaders could resolve many issues.

He highlighted the strong connection between India and Bangladesh, both sharing a border and common aspirations. Trivedi emphasized that the goal is to foster a people-centric approach and that disputes are inevitable in democracies, but maintaining good relations is essential for a "win-win" situation.
