Cyber Security Youth Camp fetes teams for best projects

On Tuesday, the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) concluded the third edition of the Cyber Security Youth Camp, welcoming approximately 400 students aged 13-17 from various public and private schools throughout Qatar. The event, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and organized by Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, aimed to cultivate a highly skilled and cyber-aware generation in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030's emphasis on human development and digital capabilities.

Throughout the 20-day program, participants underwent over 50 hours of intensive, hands-on training on 15 cybersecurity topics, including web fundamentals, attack analysis, networks and systems, cyber defense, and ethical hacking. Beyond Qatar's borders, over 1,000 students from diverse countries engaged remotely, bolstering the camp's global influence and promoting cybersecurity awareness and digital inclusion.

To provide real-world context, students toured Ooredoo, gaining insights into the practical applications of cybersecurity in the workforce and exploring specialized career paths. Discussions focused on emerging threats enabled by artificial intelligence and methods to counteract them. Notable cybersecurity experts and educators led dialogue sessions, imparting their knowledge on digital protection, while recreational activities and interactive sessions fostered teamwork and reinforced a secure, inspiring atmosphere.

In addition to the Consultation Corner and Cybersecurity Corner challenges, a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition enabled participants to test their skills in a competitive setting, honing their problem-solving abilities under pressure. Concluding the camp, participants showcased 80 graduation projects, addressing tangible cybersecurity challenges, demonstrating their practical application of the acquired knowledge.
