Crystal Palace in talks to re-sign Guessand on loan

Crystal Palace are engaged in discussions to re-sign Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa. The 25-year-old Ivorian forward previously spent the latter part of last term on loan at Selhurst Park, contributing to the team's Conference League triumph in May. Guessand's move to Villa only occurred in August of the previous year, but his tenure at the club has been less than successful, with only two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions following his £26 million transfer.

Upon joining Palace in January, he scored his debut Premier League goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolves and made an appearance in the Conference League final win against Rayo Vallecano. Additionally, Guessand added a Europa League winners' medal to his collection after helping Villa to victory in the tournament earlier in the season, prior to Unai Emery's side claiming the trophy.

The Ivory Coast international also featured twice as a substitute for the national team during the World Cup in the summer. Following Palace's failure to exercise an option to make the deal permanent earlier in the summer, Guessand returned to Villa for pre-season training.
