Could Elizabeth Waddell be somewhere on land or on a boat? Husband weighs in, ‘It is exceedingly strange that…’

Cailen Waddell, husband of missing 44-year-old Elizabeth 'Liz' Waddell, weighs in on the mystery of his wife's disappearance in Grenada. Elizabeth vanished while visiting the Caribbean island nation, specifically the Grand Anse area of St. George’s, where she was staying at a white sand beach resort. Elizabeth's husband has shared his thoughts on where his wife might be - on land or on a boat.

Cailen stated that it is possible for Elizabeth to have swum out into the bay and back, but expressed disbelief at her doing so. He questioned why she has not shown up after a thorough search of the coastline, which included boat and drone searches, canine teams on the beach, and searches in Mount Harmon National Park and other wooded areas. Cailen also mentioned that Elizabeth's free-spirited nature makes it seem unlikely that she would disappear for two weeks without contact.

Regarding the possibility of Elizabeth being on a boat, Cailen acknowledged that she could be on one, given the presence of private boats in the area. However, he emphasized that there is no evidence to support this theory. The coast guard and immigration checked anchored boats in the vicinity, but found no indication that Elizabeth had sought refuge on one. Cailen also ruled out the idea of Elizabeth leaving with someone, stating that he can't see her just going off with someone.

Despite the lack of evidence suggesting that Elizabeth intended to disappear voluntarily, he believes drowning may be the most likely scenario. Elizabeth, a physical therapist from Cary, North Carolina, was last seen getting into the sea at around 11:51 am, and was observed swimming beneath a jetty 13 minutes later. However, she was not seen returning from the water on surveillance footage.
