One of South Africa's most renowned culinary figures, Cass Abrahams, who was commonly referred to as The Spice Queen, has passed away at the age of 83. In Cape Town, the loss of this celebrated chef and author has deeply saddened the local community.

Dubbed as a specialist in Cape Malay cuisine and culture, Abrahams possessed a vibrant personality that matched the spices she expertly worked with.
