While President Donald Trump was seen boarding an older Air Force One jet at Ankara International Airport, he was secretly moved to a different aircraft via an airport catering truck. The operation, described by a US official as a "deception operation", was initiated due to a credible threat from Iran. The catered truck, typically used for loading meals onto planes, was parked on the tarmac opposite to Air Force One, providing visual evidence of the covert move.

This switch took place during Trump's visit for a NATO summit, a period marked by escalating tensions with Iran, a neighboring country. Throughout the event, the public was led to believe Trump had departed on Air Force One, while in reality, he had clandestinely boarded a smaller aircraft, the C-32A.
