Can’t Rahul Gandhi see students’ pain?: Minister slams Congress ‘silence’ on Jharkhand protests

A State Agriculture Minister and senior BJP leader, Jitu Vaghani, recently criticized the opposition Congress party, particularly its leader Rahul Gandhi, over their handling of an issue involving protesting students in Jharkhand. The protests in Jharkhand stemmed from concerns regarding their future, competitive exams, and grievances such as irregularities in recruitment processes and paper leaks. Vaghani questioned the Congress' silence on the matter, asking "Can't Rahul Gandhi see the pain of students of Jharkhand?"

Vaghani was speaking at a press conference in Gandhinagar following clashes between police and protesters in Ranchi. He cited reports of barbed wire, lathi charges, tear gas, and water cannons being used against the students, describing the actions as "extremely serious and condemnable." Vaghani's statement highlighted a coalition government comprising Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand, questioning Gandhi's lack of concern for the students' situation in Jharkhand.

The BJP leader emphasized the need for sensitivity and responsibility in addressing the youth's rights and future, asserting that the current approach appears to be driven by selective politics.

Lambasting the Congress for the ongoing logjam in Parliament, Vaghani alleged that Union Ministers J P Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and Piyush Goyal were ready to answer any questions in the House. He also accused the Congress of avoiding discussions and spreading falsehoods, claiming that Rahul Gandhi and the party were deliberately obstructing the government's ability to address concerns and expose the lies and misleading statements made by Gandhi.
