Buccaneers-Jets joint practice turns chippy, with a few fights and a helmet thrown

Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets engaged in a highly competitive joint practice on Tuesday at Florham Park, New Jersey. The practice was marked by several scuffles and altercations between players from both teams, according to Tampa Bay right tackle Luke Goedeke. The first fight erupted during 1-on-1 drills when Jets rookie edge rusher David Bailey called out Goedeke, leading to a heated confrontation that involved several players from both sides.

Goedeke claimed that Bailey even tried shoving him, resulting in Jets edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare cheap-shooting Goedeke. Another significant fight broke out during 11-on-11 team drills when Buccaneers' Jarius Monroe returned an interception for a touchdown, leading to another altercation that saw Goedeke take the helmet of Jets cornerback Qwan' tez Stiggers and hurl it about 20 yards downfield.

Jets' right tackle Armand Membou and Buccaneers' A’Shawn Robinson also engaged in a fight, with Robinson tearing off Membou's helmet. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles reported that there were "a few minor dustups," while Jets coach Aaron Glenn stated that the players "did a really good job of forgetting about it and getting to the next play."

The incident highlights the intense competition and rivalries between the two teams as they prepare for their preseason opener on Friday night.
