Anwar Gargash calls for end to region’s ‘no war, no peace’ limbo

Dubai – The United Arab Emirates' Diplomatic Adviser, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, has called for an end to the prolonged state of "no war, no peace" in the region, urging instead a path toward sustainable stability rooted in international law, peaceful coexistence, and respect for sovereignty. In a post on X, Gargash emphasized that clarity over the region's future is crucial for its stability and the well-being of its people.

"The region cannot remain indefinitely in a state of neither war nor peace; its stability and the future of its people require clarity of vision and direction," he stated.

Gargash further warned against building the next phase of regional stability on unstable foundations that disregard international law, the principles of peaceful coexistence, respect for sovereignty, and the logic of peace. He insisted that the aim should be sustainable stability governed by clear and shared rules. He also welcomed the Lebanon-Israel framework agreement as a step towards upholding sovereignty.

Gargash highlighted the UAE's commitment to diplomacy and Gulf security in the wake of Iran's recent call, and he cautioned against imposing new geopolitical realities on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) through treacherous aggression.
