‘Almost like a holiday’: Suriya prefers his 1,700 sq ft Mumbai home over Chennai bungalow

Suriya, the accomplished actor, has expressed his delight in his smaller 1,700 sq ft Mumbai residence over the luxury bungalow they previously owned in Chennai. The relocation of Suriya and his family, including their children Diya and Dev, to Mumbai was prompted by various factors, primarily to make Jyotika, his wife, closer to her parents and to assist her in restarting her Bollywood career.

During an interview for his upcoming film Vishwanath & Sons, Suriya narrated his fondness for living in the cozy 1700 sq ft house in Mumbai, stating that it feels like a holiday for him. In his words, the compact living space facilitates a comfortable and warm atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging and closeness with his children.

Suriya’s love for Mumbai is evident, as he can easily reach out to his children with just a step, without any hassle. His wife, Jyotika, likewise expressed her happiness, which in turn spreads positivity throughout their family life. The couple, who got married in Chennai in 2006, had their first daughter, Diya, in 2007, and their son, Dev, in 2010.

Suriya is set to star in the film Vishwanath & Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, which is slated to release on August 14.
