You can’t stop God’s project, Davido slams APC over Adeleke

Afrobeats singer Davido has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly trying to hinder progress in Osun State, following the inauguration of a Lagere Flyover by his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke. The singer expressed his support for the governor and his administration through social media posts, sharing videos and comments from the event. In one post, Davido wrote, "Jesus, see Ile-Ife crowd!! For @AAdeleke_01!!! Done deal! You can’t stop God’s project!!"

Davido questioned the motives of the APC, saying, "APC is just backward. Why would they be doing anything to stop progress? Thought y’all were progressives??". He also mocked the presence of influencers and supporters at the inauguration, jokingly suggesting that the influencers could be paid 100,000 each for attending and for free hotel and food.

The Lagere Flyover, which cost approximately ₦14.9bn, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Ile-Ife, a major commercial and transport hub. The inauguration took place alongside the dualisation of the Mayfair Roundabout-Palace Junction Road. The project is part of Adeleke's infrastructure program, which also includes road construction and development of other major transport infrastructure across Osun State.

The event occurred just days before the Osun State governorship election on August 15, in which Adeleke is seeking re-election against the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
