World Unity & Peace International Launched

World Unity and Peace International (WUPI) has been launched in Accra by the Chief of Ekumfi-Eyisem Traditional Area, Nana Impraim VIII, and the Founder and President of WUPI, Okronkronyi Nyami Somafo Yawoh. The non-governmental organization aims to promote peace, unity, human rights, and dignity worldwide. The WUPI Charter, the organization's guiding document, was also unveiled during the event.

Nana Impraim VIII expressed concern over the prevalence of intolerance and hate speech, which he believes often leads to civil unrest in Africa and other regions. He urged individuals to respect one another, regardless of their religious or political differences. The Founder and President of WUPI, Okronkronyi Nyami Somafo Yawoh, criticized the derogatory comments made by some young people on social media, stating that such behavior contradicts Ghanaian cultural values and could negatively impact national peace and unity.

Dr. Akwesi Agyeman, an editor and lecturer, encouraged the media to use their platforms to promote peace and unity, emphasizing that their role extends beyond merely informing and entertaining audiences. Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Freduah Agyemang Budu II, the Chairman of the event, praised the initiative to promote peace and unity in Ghana and globally, urging all stakeholders to support WUPI's vision and mission. The organization is set to host the WUPI Summit in September of this year.
