Woman questions hosepipe ban while leak not fixed

Linda Kirby, a receptionist from Polly's Field Village in Deanery Hill, Braintree, Essex, has expressed her frustration with Anglian Water's decision to impose a hosepipe ban while a water leak remains unaddressed. She reported the leak weeks ago, noting that it tumbles down Church Lane, creating a puddle next to Chantry Close. Kirby, who resides in Halstead, expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation, stating, "Why are we paying all of this money when there is water being wasted down a drain?"

The leak has worsened over time, transitioning from a small trickle to a larger flow. The resident who reported the leak to Anglian Water claimed that the issue has persisted for two to three months without any resolution. Anglian Water attributes the current hosepipe ban to the dry weather, which can lead to ground movement resulting in burst water mains or leaks.

The company acknowledged the public's patience as they navigate the challenges posed by the exceptional dry spell.
