WATCH: King Cobra Found At Mumbai Congress Leader Sheetal Mhatre’s Office; Rescued & Safely Released In Mangrove Forest

Mumbai Congress spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre encountered a King Cobra snake at her office on Monday, leading her to urgently request assistance from the Maharashtra Forest Department. Mhatre posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) demonstrating her safe capture of the snake and her placement of it in a glass container. She contacted the Forest Department, requesting an authorized rescue team to collect and relocate the snake from her premises.

However, Mhatre expressed frustration when she claimed no response was received from the Forest Department hours later.

Undeterred, she decided to take matters into her own hands and transported the snake to a nearby mangrove forest, where she released it into its natural habitat. The snake quickly disappeared into the surrounding environment following its release. Mhatre shared an update on social media, confirming that the snake had been safely relocated to the mangrove forest as no response had been received from the Forest Department officials.

The incident has garnered attention to Mhatre's efforts in rescuing and relocating the snake without causing it harm. The video footage of the rescue and release process showcased Mhatre's careful handling of the King Cobra. Additionally, the story highlighted a previous snake scare on a Mumbai local train, where a train was halted for 12 minutes at Thane station due to a snake inside the ladies' coach.

While the train eventually resumed its journey, authorities have yet to confirm whether a snake was indeed found inside the coach.
