Warga Pakistan ditahan guna logo imigresen pada kenderaan

Police have detained a Pakistani man for allegedly using a government logo and headlight flash on a vehicle within 24 hours of a video showing the incident going viral on social media. The Immigration Department made the arrest during a special operation at 4:30 pm yesterday at the PV3 Platinum Hill Condominium in Setapak, based on a video showing a vehicle with a government logo being operated by a foreign national.

During the search at the premises, the authorities also detained an Indonesian woman believed to be living in Malaysia and found two more stolen Indonesian passports in his possession, reportedly belonging to different individuals. Initial investigations into the individual found that the video in question was recorded in April 2025 and uploaded to a WhatsApp status by the individual's wife on August 7.

The wife was in Indonesia at the time and uploaded the video while she was there, according to her statement. The Pakistani man was detained for allegedly committing an offense under Section 12(1)(f) of the Passport Act 1966 and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, while the Indonesian woman was detained under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.

The operation team was apparently tracking a Toyota Hilux vehicle believed to have been used in the viral video footage at a car wash in Jalan Kuching, Kuala Lumpur. Zakaria stated that the vehicle's owner, who is also a Pakistani national, was detained along with eight foreign workers, comprising four Bangladeshis, three Pakistanis, and one Indian.

He said the vehicle owner was questioned under Section 55B of the Immigration Act, while the eight workers were accused of committing offenses under Section 6(1)(c) of the same act for not having valid travel documents. The vehicle owner allegedly claimed he placed the government logo and headlight flash for personal use without any official purpose and denied knowing that it was an offense under the law.

He also claimed that the logo and headlight flash in question had been removed before the video went viral.
