Warga Pakistan ditahan guna logo imigresen pada kenderaan

Police have arrested a man of Pakistani nationality who allegedly used official Immigration Department logos and headlights on his vehicle. In Putrajaya, the Immigration Department detained a Pakistani man believed to be using the department's logo and headlights on a vehicle within 24 hours of a video of the incident going viral on social media.

Immigration Chief Zakaria Shaaban said the man was arrested during a special operation at 4:30 pm yesterday at PV3 Platinum Hill Condominium, Setapak following a risk assessment based on a video that showed a vehicle with a Immigration Department logo being used by a foreign national. During a search of the premises, he said the department also detained an Indonesian woman found to be residing in Malaysia for an extended period and found two Indonesian passports believed to belong to another individual in the man's possession.

Early investigation of the individual found the video was recorded in April 2025 and uploaded to a WhatsApp status by the woman's wife on August 7. The woman's wife was in Indonesia and the video was uploaded when she was there, according to her in a statement. The Pakistani man was arrested on suspicion of committing an offense under Section 12(1)(f) of the Passports Act 1966 and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, while the Indonesian woman was detained under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.

According to the operation, the vehicle's owner, a Pakistani national, was detained along with eight foreign workers consisting of four Bangladeshis, three Pakistanis, and one Indian. He said the vehicle owner was questioned under Section 55B of the Immigration Act, while the eight workers were accused of committing offenses under Section 6(1)(c) of the same act for not having valid travel documents.

The vehicle owner allegedly claimed he placed the Immigration Department logo and headlights for personal use without any official purpose and claimed not to know that the act was illegal. He said the owner also claimed the logo and headlights in question had been removed before the video went viral.
