Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk kills 12, authorities say

On Sunday, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) played a crucial role in mitigating the aftermath of Russian attacks in Kharkiv and Zhytomyr. The fast response team in Kharkiv worked alongside SES of Ukraine and other emergency services at the strike site almost immediately. Volunteers were involved in search and rescue operations, inspecting damaged homes, assisting in unblocking people from under rubble, evacuating victims, providing first aid and psychological support, and distributing humanitarian aid and construction materials. A K9 unit of URCS also participated in these efforts.

In Zhytomyr region, URCS volunteers were also active, working with other special services to conduct rounds, offer first aid, and provide psychological support to individuals experiencing acute stress. According to Ukraine's Emergency Services, the Russian attack on Saltivka district in Kharkiv resulted in one fatality and at least 27 injuries, including a child.

A 10-story residential building suffered severe damage, with floors from the seventh to tenth level destroyed, and a fire ensued. Additionally, three people were injured in Zhytomyr region - one was hospitalized with burns, while the other two were diagnosed with acute stress response. The impact of the strike included fires at public infrastructure facilities, a private enterprise, and a private residence.
