Trump is still searching for a way out of Iran

President Donald Trump continues to grapple with how to extricate the United States from the ongoing conflict with Iran. As public support for the war diminishes and the nation's stockpiles of weaponry dwindle, the path forward remains uncertain. Despite Trump privately reconsidering his steadfast demand for a nuclear agreement, Washington is hesitant to endorse Iran's latest set of demands for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

While Trump has played down rumors of a weapons shortage, the issue weighs heavily on his mind. Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg recently urged defense manufacturers to "expedite" munitions production, a directive Bloomberg has confirmed, one that reportedly transpired after Trump conversed with Feinberg regarding the munitions predicament.

However, government representatives concede that there is no expedient resolution to the crisis. "There's not really a way to address this issue significantly within the next few weeks or months," a US official admitted. "It will require years."
