Tinubu treks to office, eats once daily — NRS boss

Zacch Adedeji, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, has addressed concerns about the alleged lavish lifestyles of public officials, including President Bola Tinubu. During an interview on Channels Television, Adedeji clarified that despite his high-profile position, Tinubu does not live extravagantly. The discussion was prompted by public debate over government spending and the lifestyles of political leaders during a period of economic challenges in Nigeria.

Adedeji pointed out that President Tinubu typically walks from his residence to his office, using a vehicle only when traveling to the airport. Additionally, he revealed that the President consumes food only once a day and has not traveled outside Nigeria in the past three months. Adedeji challenged the notion that the President would need luxury vehicles, arguing that if he could afford them, it would be a trivial concern compared to the country's broader issues.

He emphasized the need to focus on economic challenges rather than scrutinizing the personal lives of public officials.
