A fire broke out at a logistics center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, on Monday, prompting the government to issue a national mobilization order for firefighting resources. The fire started at around 3:40 p.m. on Monday at the CJ Logistics warehouse in Pyeongtaek, about 45 kilometers southwest of Seoul, and continued to burn as of 9 p.m. The warehouse stored 1.91 million liters of hazardous materials, including highly flammable liquids. As of 9 p.m., firefighters had been battling the blaze for about five and a half hours, but it had not been extinguished. Interior Minister Lee Sang-min ordered officials to do everything they could to prevent the fire from spreading and to minimize damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
