Soldiers repel midnight terror attack in Borno

The Nigerian Army repelled an overnight attack by suspected Boko Haram or ISWAP insurgents at a military base in Gajiram, Borno State. The assault occurred around 1 a.m. on Monday, as insurgents stormed the Forward Operating Base in large numbers, attempting to overrun the facility. Soldiers at the base claimed to have repelled the attackers and killed several insurgents during the confrontation.

However, several personnel were injured, and the troops sought immediate evacuation for medical treatment. The insurgents are alleged to have set fire to operational vehicles, ammunition, and other military equipment during the assault. The Nigerian Army has not officially confirmed the attack, the number of casualties, or the insurgents killed.
