Saudi Pro League denies delays in club transfer approvals

Omar Baterjee, spokesperson for the Saudi Pro League, has refuted reports of delays in the player recruitment process. He clarified that any discrepancies relate solely to the evaluation of players, not procedural delays or response times. During a presentation at the Sports Sector Conference, Baterjee stated definitively that "There are no delays in responses or in the procedures of the recruitment program.

The differences are in player evaluations." He emphasized that claims of interference in any aspect of the program are inaccurate, as no responses are delayed. When discussing the possibility of clubs signing players despite financial constraints, Baterjee explained that approval is contingent upon clubs providing proof of their financial stability through supporting documents and remedial plans.

He noted that clubs may sign players if they can demonstrate through documented evidence and repayment schedules that there is no revenue shortfall and no financial risk involved. Baterjee also emphasized that the recruitment team comprises both international and Saudi professionals, underscoring their collective expertise in player assessments.
