Samsung s newest foldable smartphones hit Vietnam

Samsung's newest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, have arrived in Vietnam. The launch event at the SamCenter store in Ho Chi Minh City attracted over 1,000 visitors on the first day alone. Pre-order customers were among the first to receive their new devices, joining on-site unboxing activities, minigames, instant photo sessions and receiving gifts such as Galaxy Buds Core earbuds, a 60W charger and vouchers.

The Galaxy Z8 Series, Samsung's latest premium foldable lineup, includes the Galaxy Z Fold8 ($1,800), the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra ($2,000) and the Galaxy Z Flip8 ($1,250). The Fold8 boasts a 4:3 main-screen aspect ratio and is Samsung's lightest Fold model to date at 201g. It features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 4,800mAh battery and a dual-camera system with a 50MP main camera. The Ultra model offers a 200MP main camera and upgraded AI features for productivity and multitasking.

Actor Manh Truong, a long-time Samsung foldable phone user, praised the Multi Window feature during the event. Samsung's presence in the Vietnamese market is significant, with the company leading the market in Q1 2026 with a 29% share, followed by Oppo, Apple and Xiaomi. Despite challenges in other sectors, demand for new-generation mobile devices remains strong among Vietnamese consumers.
