Rajasthan Farmer Buries ₹5 Lakh In Field To Hide It From Family, Termites Destroy Cash; Video Viral

In Rajasthan's Barmer district, a farmer named Mangilal Meghwal recently experienced devastating loss after termites destroyed Rs 5 lakh in cash he had buried in his field to keep it from his family. A video went viral, showing the termite-ravaged currency notes in a container. The farmer buried the money in a field covering about 10 bighas after selling a plot a year ago, intending to use it to build a small house.

However, he feared the cash could be stolen or squandered by family members. He buried the notes in a polythene bag and kept the location secret from his family. When he required the money later, he couldn't recall the exact spot and spent days searching through the field, ultimately informing his family. They too searched for the cash but found none.

The family discovered the cash recently during field preparation for sowing, after rainfall brought the polythene bag to the surface. The notes were severely damaged by termites. The family approached banks in Pachpadra and Balotra with the damaged currency, but were directed to Jaipur due to the notes' condition. The family faces financial difficulties and the challenge of traveling to Jaipur, leaving Mangilal hoping to recover his money somehow.
