Poonam Dhillon breaks silence as 8 CINTAA members resign: ‘Vulgar, offensive allegations’

CINTAA, the Cine and TV Artistes Association, is experiencing turmoil as eight of its executive committee members have resigned from their positions and the committee itself. They cite a loss of confidence in the current leadership and demand fresh elections. Amid the chaos, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon has spoken out, describing the allegations against her and senior vice-president Padmini Kolhapure as "deeply offensive."

The eight executive members submitted a joint resignation letter, accusing the association's functioning of becoming too focused on just a few individuals. They also claimed that the organization's decision-making process has been marred by a disregard for collective decision-making, consultation, and constitutional governance principles.

The resignation letter alleged that Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure had been making unilateral decisions, issuing official communications through their personal IDs, and representing the association without consulting or obtaining approval from the executive committee.

CINTAA general secretary Upasana Singh confirmed that a total of 11 members, including eight from the executive committee, have resigned. They also submitted complaints, alleging that Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon are misusing their positions. However, CINTAA's legal counsel has stated that the executive committee has not been formally dissolved.
