Palace close to signing Khalaili from Union SG

Crystal Palace are on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Anan Khalaili from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise. The 21-year-old midfielder is anticipated to seal his switch to the club within the next week, according to reports. The fee for the deal is estimated to be around £21 million. Khalaili primarily operates on the right side of midfield.

During the 2021-22 season, he played 52 matches across all competitions for Union SG, contributing six goals and six assists. The Israeli player had a notable stint in the Champions League with Union SG, which he believes will provide valuable European experience for the Eagles as they prepare for their Europa League campaign.

Palace have been busy in the transfer market recently. They have signed defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oscar Mingueza on free transfers. Additionally, they are set to sign 19-year-old Real Salt Lake winger Zavier Gozo. However, it has been confirmed that interest in Brennan Johnson has cooled, and he is now set to move to Everton as part of a swap deal, wherein Dwight McNeil will join Palace.
