Odisha-Hyderabad drug trafficking network busted, woman among three held with 6 kg ganja

According to police, Sunitha Nag, a 30-year-old woman, Pojja Dirdo and Manchala Rajesh were arrested on Monday morning after an inter-state drug supply network was busted in LB Nagar, Hyderabad. The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in transporting and selling 6 kilograms of ganja worth ₹3 lakh. Sunitha and Pojja were identified as the transporters, while Rajesh was the alleged receiver.

Sunitha's cousin, Lakhan from Malkangiri district in Odisha, allegedly procured marijuana from local cultivators and supplied it to consumers in Hyderabad. Sunitha reportedly began transporting consignments to a customer named Satya in LB Nagar two years ago. Initially, she would travel to Hyderabad with 5 to 10 kg of ganja by bus.

Later, she started buying the drug from Lakhan at a lower price and selling it to Satya at a higher markup. Five days before her apprehension, Satya placed an order for 6 kg of ganja, which Sunitha procured from Lakhan on August 9. Pojja accompanied Sunitha to Hyderabad, and the duo was intercepted by the EAGLE Force and LB Nagar police while they were handing over the marijuana.

Satyanarayana, who managed to escape, is among four absconding suspects. Police are working to establish a wider network, trace financial transactions and identify additional suppliers and consumers.
