New initiative to provide sanitary pads for rural women in KwaZulu-Natal

The Sivananda World Peace Foundation has teamed up with Sulabh International, a prominent Indian organization, to manufacture and distribute sanitary pads for women and girls in rural KwaZulu-Natal. This initiative aligns with the foundation's Outreach and Wellness Programmes, which follow the guiding principles of Serve, Love, and Be Good, and Do Good.

Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, President of the Sivananda World Peace Foundation, emphasized the importance of menstrual health as a fundamental human right. He expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, "In partnership with Sulabh International, India, we are bringing a sustainable solution to our rural communities. This is service in action."

Abha Kumar, representing Sulabh International, India, echoed the sentiment, saying, "We are honoured to partner with the Sivananda World Peace Foundation on this life-changing initiative. Together, we are committed to bringing dignity, health, and empowerment to women and girls in rural KwaZulu-Natal."

Sulabh International, renowned for its work in sanitation and social upliftment, will contribute technical expertise and proven models to facilitate the rollout of the project. The manufacturing unit will prioritize serving underserved rural areas first. The foundation and Sulabh International will collaborate closely with local leaders, schools, and community health workers to ensure effective distribution, education, and long-term impact.
