NDLEA nabs 58-year-old grandfather, 8 others for drugs trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Edo State has apprehended a 58-year-old man and eight other individuals for alleged drug trafficking in the region. Dr Mitchell Ofoyeju, the Edo State Commander of Narcotics, announced this development in a statement to local journalists.

The suspects were apprehended at different locations throughout the state. Ofoyeju provided details about the arrested individuals, mentioning five males and four females. Among the apprehended was Musa Muhammed from Bauchi State, who was found in possession of cannabis sativa, 280 grams, and loud, 35 grams, in addition to Colorado, 1.4 grams.

Another suspect, 17-year-old Anna Agbona from Edo State, was arrested with 25 grams of Tramadol. Other individuals caught include Ebere Anthony from Delta State with cannabis sativa, 1.5kg; Gift Oliseyenum, 31, with cannabis sativa, 74 grams, loud, 45 grams, Colorado, 2.5 grams, and methamphetamine, 4.7 grams. Boniface George, 27, from Delta State, was found with cannabis sativa, 195 grams; Muzamilu Mustapha, 28, from Katsina, with loud, 40 grams, and cannabis sativa, 80 grams; Faustina Peter and Chucks Odili, both from Delta, were apprehended with loud, 35 grams, Colorado, 10 grams, and methamphetamine, 0.8 grams.

Ofoyeju commended the efforts of the NDLEA personnel, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to combat narcotics in the state. He highlighted the importance of community involvement in reporting illicit activities and assured the public that the agency would continue to investigate drug-related matters and seek appropriate legal action.
