Nashik: Shiv Sena (UBT) To Launch Major Agitation Over Pothole-Ridden Roads, Says MP Sanjay Raut

The Shiv Sena (UBT) party in Nashik is planning a major protest against the city's deteriorating road conditions, characterized by numerous potholes. Party MP Sanjay Raut made this announcement after a meeting with a delegation of Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders and Nashik Municipal Corporation corporators. Raut highlighted the frequent injuries caused to commuters due to the potholes, stating that the issue remains unresolved despite promises of road repair and pothole filling.

Raut criticized Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister Girish Mahajan, accusing them of neglecting Nashik's infrastructure. He pointed out that despite being considered Fadnavis' "adopted city," Nashik's roads remain in poor condition. Raut questioned why ordinary citizens cannot travel without falling into potholes, especially in light of Fadnavis' frequent travel by plane or helicopter.

The MP also revealed that at least six people have died due to pothole-related incidents, alleging a lack of seriousness from Fadnavis and Mahajan regarding the issue.

As the Simhastha Kumbh Mela approaches, with thousands of pilgrims expected in Nashik, Raut questioned the readiness of the civic administration to handle the influx safely. He emphasized that the civic authorities should not put the well-being of the pilgrims at risk by forcing them to traverse potholes. Raut warned that the Shiv Sena (UBT) will conduct a significant agitation and hold the Nashik Municipal Corporation accountable for the deteriorating state of the city's roads.
