Mumbai Weather Update: Cloudy Skies, Moderate Rains Likely Today; No IMD Alert For This Week

Mumbai started its Monday with light drizzle, cloudy skies, and gusty winds as monsoon conditions persisted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts another day of moderate rainfall and thundershowers for the city, but has not issued any rain alert for this week. Mumbai and its surrounding areas are forecast to remain generally cloudy with a chance of moderate rain throughout the day.

While extensive heavy rainfall is not anticipated, isolated regions may encounter moderate to heavy showers along with occasional gusty winds. Wind speeds are projected to range from 40 to 50 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching 50-60 kmph during intense rain periods. The highest temperature for the day should be around 32°C, while the lowest was measured at 29°C.

Mumbai's luxury real estate market has seen a surge in property sales during the first week of August, with average flat prices reaching ₹27.3 crore. The month of August is anticipated to have normal to below-normal rainfall overall, with average minimum temperatures expected to be normal to above normal. Despite a country-wide forecast for below-normal monsoon rainfall due to El Nino conditions, heavy showers in Mumbai and nearby districts at the beginning of July helped the city make up for its seasonal rainfall shortfall.

Mumbai's air quality, represented by the Air Quality Index (AQI), remains in the good category, with an AQI of 26 on Monday morning, indicating clean air with minimal health risks for the general public.
