The Presidency has responded to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's criticism of the Tinubu administration's security record. Atiku claimed that the deaths of 5,091 Nigerians in violent incidents over three months signaled the failure of the government. However, the Presidency countered that the figure did not take into account the significant achievements of security agencies.

According to the Presidency, more than 13,000 terrorists were killed and thousands of Nigerians were rescued from captivity during the same period. The government accused Atiku of deliberately ignoring these accomplishments in a "politics of despair."
