Minerals Commission to take immediate control of Adamus Mine after lease revocation upheld

The Minerals Commission is poised to assume immediate administrative control of the Adamus Mine in the Ellembelle District following the government's endorsement of the revocation of Adamus Resources' mining lease. This decision was made public by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, during a visit to the mine.

The decision was based on the report of a Ministerial Review Committee that had reviewed appeals filed by Adamus Resources. The committee found that most of the breaches identified in the initial assessment of the company's operations were indeed valid. As a result, the revocation of the mining lease has been upheld and the Minerals Commission has been directed to take administrative control of the mine immediately.

The government's action comes after Adamus Resources was accused of breaching the terms and conditions of its mining operations. Buah emphasized that the review process was conducted to ensure that all concerns of Adamus Resources were considered before a final decision was made. The Minerals Commission is expected to implement this decision as part of the government's ongoing efforts to enforce the Mining Act and mining regulations.
