Man claiming to be an undercover agent of NSA Ajit Doval arrested in Bihar

The Bihar Police have apprehended a man who falsely claimed to be an IAS officer and undercover agent of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, according to police reports. Manish Gupta, the 31-year-old accused, was arrested on Sunday after Khagaria police and the District Investigation Unit (DIU) conducted an extensive search of his lavish residence in Jamalpur Bazar.

The police seized two luxury cars, including a driverless Tesla with 'Government of India' signboards, and a property featuring a swimming pool and private theatre. In addition to the vehicles, over 31 liters of foreign liquor, nine liters of beer, and numerous luxury items were seized from the residence. Gupta allegedly possessed assets valued at over ₹100 crore.

Superintendent of Police Bhanu Pratap Singh revealed that the police received a tip-off regarding Gupta's fraudulent activities, which involved intimidating people by displaying a Government of India signboard on his vehicle and posing as an IAS officer. During questioning, Gupta identified himself as Manish Kumar, claiming to be an undercover agent for the NSA.

However, verification confirmed these claims to be false. Gupta has been formally arrested, and legal proceedings are underway. Charges against him include sections 212, 213, 318(2), 340(2), 336(3), and 319(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as sections 39/49 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, for possessing swan deer horns.

Additionally, a case under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, has been registered. The police plan to utilize the Economic Offences Unit to assess Gupta's total assets, as their acquisition may have been through illegal means. The investigation will also extend to scrutinizing his properties in other states and abroad.
