Mahkamah kembalikan konsesi Menara KL sebagai defendan saman RM1 bilion

The Supreme Court of Appeal has returned Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd and Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd as defendants in an RM1 billion lawsuit filed by former Kuala Lumpur Tower operator Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd and Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd. The three-judge panel, led by Judge Azhahari Kamal Ramli, unanimously decided that LSH Service Master, along with its shareholders LSH Best Builders Sdn Bhd and Service Master (M) Sdn Bhd, should remain defendants in the case.

The panel also allowed Hydroshoppe and Menara KL to amend their claim, while rejecting the allegation that the amendment was a tactical move. The judges found that the amendment was made at an early stage of the proceedings, with good intentions, and without evidence of any ulterior motives. The three companies have been ordered to pay RM30,000 in costs to Hydroshoppe and Menara KL, while the government and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil have been ordered to pay RM15,000.

Hydroshoppe and Menara KL filed the lawsuit last year to challenge the legality of LSH Service Master's leasehold over Menara KL and to seek around RM1 billion in damages for the return of the lease. They also named the government and Communications Minister Fahmi as defendants. Previously, the High Court allowed the lawsuit to continue against the government and Fahmi but dismissed the claims against LSH Service Master, LSH Best Builders Sdn Bhd, and Service Master (M) Sdn Bhd.

LSH Service Master took over the management of Menara KL in April 2025. Court proceedings are scheduled to begin on June 28 and conclude by July 2, 2027. LSH Service Master and LSH Best Builders are subsidiaries of LSH Capital.
