Lindsay Clancy's psychiatrist returns to stand as trial enters third week

Lindsay Clancy, the mother accused of murdering her three children, is currently on trial in a Plymouth, Massachusetts courtroom. The 35-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the charges, with her defense team arguing that she was not criminally responsible due to a psychotic episode caused by postpartum mental illness. However, prosecutors maintain that Lindsay acted intentionally and swiftly when she strangled her children, Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months, at their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023.

In a shocking turn of events, Lindsay was reportedly paralyzed from the waist down after attempting suicide by jumping from a second-story window on the same day she killed her children. She was subsequently admitted to South Shore Hospital and later transferred to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for treatment. Despite the severity of her injuries, including a thoracic spine injury, doctors noted that her cuts on her neck and wrists were superficial and required only several sutures.

Lindsay's condition deteriorated further when she went into cardiac arrest and required CPR and chest compressions, as well as multiple blood transfusions.
