LESCO System Outage Delays New Electricity Connections

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has been grappling with a significant disruption in its operations due to an outage of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This system malfunction has persisted for the past seven days, causing a cascade of issues across the company's offices. The ERP system, which was recently updated as part of LESCO's modernization efforts, is responsible for issuing crucial materials such as transformers, electricity meters, poles, and other essential equipment needed for consumer services.

The technical fault has rendered the issuance of these materials impossible, leading to delays in the establishment of new electricity connections and other related services. This predicament has arisen despite the company's Board of Directors and senior management approving the ERP system's implementation. The ongoing outage has further exacerbated the situation by preventing LESCO offices from preparing material release orders, thereby hampering the supply chain and causing hindrances for consumers in need of new electricity connections and other associated services.
