Lagos man beaten to death over missing phone

A young man, Azeez, was beaten to death over a dispute involving a missing phone in the Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos State. The incident occurred on Monday, August 3, after Azeez was involved in an argument with colleagues over a missing phone following a party. The argument escalated into an assault by suspected cultists who were also his friends.

An anti-cultism advocacy platform, Naija Confra, reported that the incident began on Sunday night during a birthday celebration when one Abela allegedly took a phone and handed it to Azeez. After the phone was found in Azeez's possession, the owner and his friends confronted Azeez, who then accused Abela of giving him the phone. This led to another argument and subsequent assault, ultimately resulting in Azeez's death.
