Kepong MP offers RM5,000 to ID person who set elderly woman on fire

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng is offering a RM5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect who allegedly set an elderly woman on fire outside a lottery shop in Kuala Lumpur. The incident, described as an act of shocking cruelty, occurred after the suspect doused the 62-year-old woman, who works as a lottery shop attendant, with what police suspect to be petrol.

Lim Lip Eng urged the public not to confront the suspect themselves, emphasizing that the culprit must be apprehended and held accountable by the law. The victim remains in critical but stable condition at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, with burns covering approximately 50% of her body. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, and Sentul deputy police chief Jasni Zolpa confirmed that police have launched a special operation to track down the suspect.
