J'khand exam row: Thousands of job aspirants march

Thousands of job seekers in Jharkhand protested alleged misconduct in recruitment tests, marching towards the state assembly on the 17th day of their demonstration. Demonstrators gathered outside the old assembly building in Dhurwa, raising banners and chanting slogans as they moved towards the new Vidhan Sabha. Security was increased, with police using batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters, despite their peaceful stance.

Former JPSC chairperson L Khiangte was arrested over irregularities in recruitment exams. Protesters are demanding reforms, the cancellation of several examinations, and an independent investigation. The government claims it has accepted 98% of the demands, but the protesters argue only three of the 13 exams they seek to cancel have been scrapped.
