Jalur Gemilang without moon and star an isolated incident, says Terengganu MB

Terengganu's Chief Minister Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar stated that the incident of the Jalur Gemilang flag being displayed without the moon and star in Kuala Terengganu was unintentional and isolated. The news about this incident went viral on social media last Friday, prompting an investigation. Samsuri assured that measures would be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future, regardless of the person responsible.

The Kuala Terengganu mayor, Lizan Che Mat, clarified that the flag was complete, but the moon and star had fallen off due to strong winds on Friday. The Kuala Terengganu City Council acted promptly to remove and replace the flag with a new one, emphasizing that they would no longer stitch their own flags and would purchase complete ones instead.

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer questioned the silence of Umno Youth regarding the incident despite the public criticism it received. Rayer suggested that Umno Youth might have been blind and mute about the matter because it did not happen in Penang, possibly referencing a previous controversy involving an upside-down flag in Penang.
