I now have three wives after adding another, says Kano mass wedding beneficiary

Dantani Aruba, a recipient of the Kano State Government's mass wedding initiative, has announced the addition of a third wife, expressing joy over the expanded family without the financial strain typically linked to marriage. In a video shared by NewsCentralTV, Aruba stated, "I just married another wife, and I am happy that I have married another one.

My wives are now three." The Kano State Government, led by Governor Yusuf Abba, organized the mass wedding, which saw the nuptials of 1,500 couples, costing a total of N1.5bn. The Hisbah Board coordinated the event, targeting low-income individuals such as widows, widowers, divorcees, spinsters, and bachelors. The government pledged to cover dowry, empowerment support, and household items for the beneficiaries.

Each couple is provided with support, including dowry, furniture, food, and other essentials to aid in establishing their homes. Known as Auren Gata, this program was initiated in Kano in 2012, expanding its reach to polygamous marriages in recent years.
