Ghana Exim Bank commissions astro turf park in Anloga

Ghana Exim Bank has unveiled a new astro turf facility at Hogbe Park in Anloga, Volta Region, as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The ultra-modern facility, named the Awoamefia Togbui Sri III Astro Turf Park in honor of the Overlord of Anlo State, marks a significant milestone in the bank's efforts to support community development.

Mr. Sylvester Adinam Mensah, Deputy Chief Executive of Ghana Exim Bank, emphasized that the completed project represents a deliberate investment in a community that had long lacked a modern facility for competitive football and organized sporting activities. The old Hogbe Park, which served the community for decades, had become inadequate due to evolving sporting standards.

The new facility will provide year-round sporting activities irrespective of weather conditions, significantly reduce maintenance costs compared to natural grass pitches, and serve as a venue for training programs, tournaments, and inter-community competitions. The establishment of a management committee is aimed at ensuring the facility's sustainability, with the bank committing to monitoring its use and expecting the management committee to maintain proper records and ensure responsible access.

Togbui Sri III of Anlo Dukor expressed gratitude to the bank and other stakeholders for selecting Anloga to benefit from the CSR project, describing the facility as a transformative development that will nurture young people's sporting talents and aspirations. District Chief Executive Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor emphasized the facility's importance for youth development, sports, and community growth, anticipating that it would provide a platform for young people to develop their talents and pursue their aspirations.
