Fujifilm’s real-life “color hunt” sells out in 2 days – but maybe it can inspire you to organize your own photographic quest

Fujifilm Australia is organizing a real-life color hunt workshop in Sydney to celebrate World Photography Day, set for August 19. Unfortunately, the event has reached its capacity. However, the brand wishes to share this engaging experience with photography enthusiasts nonetheless. This color-hunting trend involves photographers venturing out with their cameras to capture specific hues, and Fujifilm Australia has chosen forest green, cobalt blue, and merlot red based on a study.

The study surveyed 1,000 Australian photographers and found that these three colors were the most frequently photographed in 2026, with forest green at 49%, cobalt blue at 39%, and merlot red at 19%. The workshop will begin at the Fujifilm House of Photography, where participants will receive a practical workshop with local professional photographer Henry C. Afterward, the group will head to Sydney's central business district to search for the designated colors.

In addition to the color hunt, attendees will get to test out Fujifilm cameras and print their images at the House of Photography. Participants who share a photo from the event on Instagram, tagging Fujifilm, will have the chance to win a Fujinon XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens. This event merges a viral trend with a practical photography opportunity to enhance skills and foster connections among creators.
