Fans to welcome home Cork's All-Ireland camogie winners

Cork's All-Ireland Senior Camogie champions will be greeted with a special homecoming event in the city today. The Rebels defeated Galway 2-14 to 0-19 in a thrilling final at Croke Park on Wednesday. The team's first full day as champions will be marked by a visit to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street this morning. There, fans, parents, and medical staff will have the chance to see the O Duffy Cup, which was lifted by Cork for the 31st time yesterday, and meet the players and management.

The team will depart for their journey back to Cork on an open-top bus, arriving at Kent Station around 5:30 pm. They will then travel along an open-top bus route to Grand Parade, expected to arrive at about 6 pm. The homecoming festivities will commence on Grand Parade, adjacent to Cork City Library, starting at 5 pm. Ken Perrott and Finbarr McCarthy will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event.

The Cork County Board, in collaboration with Cork City Council, has organized the homecoming celebration, urging fans to bring flags, color, and noise to make it an unforgettable night for Cork camogie and the senior team. A spokesperson for the county board expressed pride in the team's efforts, commitment, and dedication, stating, "Now it's time for the people of Cork to come together and give our champions the homecoming they truly deserve.
