Ewon Benedick remains as Upko president for 2026-2029 term

Ewon Benedick and Donald Peter Mojuntin secured their positions as president and deputy president of the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) for the 2026-2029 term, respectively. The two leadership roles were uncontested during the party's election at the 17th Upko triennial delegates conference in Penampang. Additionally, five vice-presidents were also elected unopposed.

In his final remarks, Ewon expressed respect for the democratic process and the decision made by the delegates. He emphasized that the new leadership would be responsible for conveying the party's resolutions to government authorities, particularly to Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor, who is also the chairman of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Several Upko wings saw changes in their leadership, with Carlye Lajimin becoming the new Upko Youth chief and Newbaxter Tibin his deputy. Mohina Sidom retained her position as Upko women's chief, and Lomiti Jahan was elected as her deputy. The Upko Young Generation movement also had a new chief, Emmanuel Atin, and his deputy, Alison Chan.
