Edgify raises $9M to expand its edge AI platform

Edgify, an edge AI infrastructure company, has secured $9 million in Series A+ funding to expand its platform for physical retail and venture into other industries. This brings the company's total funding to $25 million since its inception. Edgify's technology connects and coordinates AI models across edge devices like self-checkouts, cameras, scales, and point-of-sale systems, processing data and learning locally without sending raw data to the cloud.

This enables devices to form a coordinated intelligence layer, reducing cloud infrastructure demands and latency while preserving customer and operational data within the store. Initially focusing on grocery retail, Edgify's platform is already deployed with retailers in the United States and Europe to tackle loss prevention through computer vision technology.

This technology identifies behaviors related to retail losses, such as scan avoidance and product switching, offering real-time assistance to shoppers and employees. Edgify is now expanding into convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, distribution centers, and apparel, with plans to extend its reach to transportation, logistics, manufacturing, and warehouse operations.

The global Edge AI market is expected to grow from $36 billion to around $386 billion by 2034, with Edgify targeting the $15.8 billion retail computer vision market. Edgify CEO and co-founder Nadav Israel emphasized that their mission is to bring intelligence where data is created, allowing devices to learn as one. The new funding will enable Edgify to transition its retail-focused infrastructure to a broader range of industrial environments, connecting previously isolated devices into real-time networks capable of functioning independently of the cloud.
